Natural Home Remedies For Cat Allergies


Cats can also be sensitive and develop allergies to things like pollen, grass, dust, etc. Also, allergic cats develop most of the same symptoms as humans.



A cat with allergy is often spotted with constant sneezing, cough, watery eyes, and a runny nose just like us. Some of the symptoms often associated with allergic cats are bald spots, excessive scratching, redness around chin, ears, eyes, or mouth, skin irritation, snoring (due to irritation in the throat).

Use Epsom salt for skin conditions:

The healing properties of Epsom salt have been known for generations. Gentle soaking of just about any infected area of your cat’s skin with Epsom salt including feet, feline acne, hot spots once or twice daily, discourages infection, reduces swelling and advances healing.

 Soothe itchy skin with oatmeal soak:

An oatmeal soak will provide quick relief from itches. Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties, and cats may feel an instant relief upon soaking.The high mineral and vitamin content in it can also help skin heal, especially the hot spots and irritated patches.

 Add a complete oil to your cat’s diet:

Hairballs are no fun to deal with for both the cat and the owner, but adding a bit of coconut oil to their diet can help reduce inflammation in the respiratory tract that can occur when your cat disgorges hairballs. Also, adding olive oil to your cat's diet on a regular basis will even keep fur shiny and soft.

 Treat hot spots with coconut oil:

Another great antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal remedy should be unrefined, cold-pressed, organic coconut oil. Apply coconut oil to a cotton ball and dab on affected area multiple times a day.

 Reliflam:

Another safe and a natural alternative to treat itchy skin in cats is reliflam, This effective solution can be used on cats to relieve them from skin irritation, besides relief, it also gives a soothing and a cooling effect due to the infusion of eucalyptus oil in it. With consistent application, it is sure to show visible results in just 3 days.
